Weavery is host to regular basket weaving circles, workshops and retreats on the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Brisbane, and travels far and wide to contribute to externally hosted events.
Led by accomplished fibre artist, René Bahloo, Weavery approaches skill building from a holistic perspective, actively facilitating community connection, life skills and wellbeing through the active meditation of basket weaving.
Taking an ancient cultural practice and adapting it to the needs of contemporary society for healing, connecting, personal growth and skill building, Weavery brings the magic of weaving circles to life. The combination of holistic practice with creative development, environmental awareness and community wellbeing adds value to this unique experience.
You can host a weavery experience: at your school, local festival, special event (baby naming, wedding…), your community gathering, corporate training session or event. Each workshop is tailored to the needs of the individual group.

And René Bahloo…?
René Bahloo is a the empress of Weavery. She is a weaver, a teacher, a learner, and an artist. She weaves with the fibre of flow and meaning, spiraling ever outwards in order to manifest beauty and joyful wellbeing, like a spider spins her masterpiece. She invites others to gather in community, teaching cultural skills and sharing the active meditation of basket weaving, in a nurturing and supportive environment. René’s passions stem from her life-altering experience of Australian Indigenous culture in Arnhem Land, Australia. She loves and lives women’s business, environmental connectedness, creative perspectives, the weaving of conscious, joyful communities and the magical journey of life. These passions have led to a Doctorate in Creative Arts, where she will complete a synergetic novel based on Indigenous culture, women’s business and weaving journeys to wisdom. Her goal is for us all to weave our world into a better place, to weave ourselves in healing and wellbeing, to weave our environment with passion and purpose.
Here René shares a creative expression of her journey that led to weaving, and sharing her passion for life.
